Embedded CI/CD & Test Automation Engineer
At IXI, we’re on a mission to transform the way the world sees. Our IXI Adaptive Eyewear is revolutionizing the eyewear industry, bringing cutting-edge technology to vision correction. Our glasses are equipped with dynamic lenses, intelligent frames, and real-time gaze recognition, providing naturally sharp vision in any situation.
Our team of experts in optics, medical device engineering, consumer electronics, and design is united by a common goal: to break the limits of traditional eyewear and change the way glasses are made.
Join our team as an Embedded CI/CD & Test Automation Engineer
We’re looking for an Embedded CI/CD & Test Automation Engineer to play a key role in building, maintaining and developing systems that ensure IXI’s embedded and application software is reliably tested, continuously integrated and efficiently released. You’ll own release and deployment pipelines across firmware and software teams. This is a hands-on engineering role that sits at the intersection of embedded systems, software infrastructure, and quality. You’ll work across multiple teams to improve automation, streamline release management, and strengthen how we test and deliver our software end-to-end.
We're looking for someone proactive and comfortable taking ownership. You enjoy solving problems and improving systems. You care deeply about quality, reliability, and maintainability. You’re motivated by building solid infrastructure that helps others move faster and release with confidence, and you communicate clearly, collaborating naturally with both hardware and software engineers.
What You'll Do
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for embedded and software systems - ensuring smooth, automated builds, tests, and deployments.
- Design and expand automated testing for embedded software.
- Refactor and optimize existing CI setups and test frameworks to make them more efficient, reliable, and scalable across teams.
- Support release management by ensuring traceable, high-quality releases - including firmware updates to eyewear in the field.
- Collaborate across multiple teams (embedded, software, algorithm, and hardware) to align on testing scope, quality standards, and release readiness.
- Capture and analyze test data from embedded systems and build visibility into test results and system health.
- Contribute to process improvement by identifying and implementing best practices for CI/CD, automation, and documentation.
What You Bring
- Strong hands-on experience with GitLab CI/CD or similar tools, including pipeline configuration and optimization.
- Proficiency in Python and familiarity with test frameworks like pytest.
- Strong git fundamentals and comfort working in Linux/MacOS build environments.
- Experience with shell scripting and automation workflows.
- Strong sense of team work and willingness to collaborate – your work happens in the intersection of many teams.
- Comfortable working in English and collaborating with people from diverse backgrounds, contributing to an open and inclusive team culture.
You’ll have the chance to work with a wide range of tools and technologies, from Bluetooth LE and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing setups to Docker-based build environments and firmware-over-the-air deployment systems. You may also be exposed to hardware debuggers and programmable lab equipment, traceability and reporting frameworks like Allure or Plotly, as well as mobile build and release workflows across Xcode, Gradle, TestFlight, and Play Console. While we don’t expect you to have hands-on experience with all of these, a strong curiosity and willingness to dive in and learn will be key.
What We Offer
- A key role at a deep tech company that is truly disrupting the eyewear market – now backed by $36.5M in Series A funding.
- Work with an innovative, growth-minded and international team that values openness, creativity and collaboration.
- Dynamic startup work environment with minimal bureaucracy.
- Competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits package, including extended healthcare and benefits for lunch, sports, recreation, massage, and commuting.
- Opportunities for professional growth and career development as the company grows.
