Development Engineer

Join our team as a Development Engineer
We’re looking for a Development Engineer to help design and make key mechanical components for IXI’s equipment. You’ll work on everything from creating 3D models and machining parts to maintaining the workshop and making sure our tools and machines run smoothly.
This is a hands-on role where you’ll spend your time both designing on screen and making things happen in the workshop. You’ll work closely with the lens and mechanics teams, supporting our product development by ensuring every component is manufacturable, functional, and ready for real-world use.
If you enjoy combining technical design with practical problem-solving, and you’re happiest when your work goes from CAD to reality, this could be the perfect fit.
What You'll Do
- Create 3D models and 2D drawings for mechanical parts and assemblies (using Fusion 360).
- Program and run CNC milling machine, making precise, high-quality components.
- Design, assemble, and troubleshoot pneumatic systems for mechanical systems.
- Taking care of routine tool maintanence and help keep the workshop organized and safe.
- Participate in tool installation and setup.
- Support new designs and improve how we make and assemble parts.
- Work closely with other teams to solve problems and make production smoother.
What You Bring
- A degree and/or background in mechanical or production engineering, or similar experience.
- Experience with 3D CAD and CAM (Fusion 360 or similar).
- CNC machining skills including setup, programming, and operation.
- Hands-on experience with manual machining and workshop tools.
- Experience with CREO is considered a plus.
- Understanding of materials, tolerances, and manufacturability.
- A practical, flexible, and proactive way of working, ready to jump into new tasks as priorities change.
- Team spirit and willingness to collaborate – your work happens in the intersection of many teams.
- Comfortable working in English and collaborating with people from diverse backgrounds.
