System Engineer
At IXI, we’re on a mission to transform the way the world sees. Our IXI Adaptive Eyewear is revolutionizing the eyewear industry, bringing cutting-edge technology to vision correction. Our glasses are equipped with dynamic lenses, intelligent frames, and real-time gaze recognition, providing naturally sharp vision in any situation.
Our team of experts in optics, medical device engineering, consumer electronics, and design is united by a common goal: to break the limits of traditional eyewear and change the way glasses are made.
Join our team as a System Engineer
We’re now looking for a System Engineer to help us bring IXI’s medical device safely and successfully to market. You’ll work closely with our product, quality, and engineering teams to create technical documentation, ensuring everything we build meets the right regulatory requirements and standards. You will be turning complex technical information into clear, well-documented system records that keep our product compliant. Your work will be crucial to actually bring the IXI product to market.
This role is hands-on and collaborative, perfect for someone who loves diving into details, asking questions, and finding smart, practical ways to get things done right.
What You'll Do
- Prepare and maintain system requirements and regulatory documentation required for medical devices (MDR).
- Create and track product risk assessments, verification, and validation plans.
- Maintain our Product Data Management (PDM) system (Windchill), including product structure, compliance documentation (RoHS, REACH, Biocompatibility, etc.), and component lifecycle data.
- Work with engineering and product teams to collect and organize the right information for technical documentation.
- Ensure our documentation stays current and supports continuous compliance.
- Support regulatory submissions and audits by making sure our documentation meets medical device standards.
What You Bring
- An engineering background (physics, mechanical, electronics, life sciences or similar)
- Experience or interest working in a regulated environment – medical devices or similar is a big plus.
- A structured and proactive approach: you like to figure things out, ask the right questions, and take ownership of moving projects forward.
- The ability to turn technical details into clear, traceable documentation.
- Comfort working with (or willingness to learn) PDM systems such as Windchill.
- Curiosity, initiative, and great collaboration skills — you’ll work with nearly every team across IXI.
- Comfortable working in English and collaborating with people from diverse backgrounds.
- Bonus points if you’ve been part of a Notified Body audit or have experience preparing documentation for certification or regulatory review.
What We Offer
- A key role at a deep tech company that is truly disrupting the eyewear market – now backed by $36.5M in Series A funding.
- Work with an innovative, growth-minded and international team that values openness, creativity and collaboration.
- Dynamic startup work environment with minimal bureaucracy.
- Competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits package, including extended healthcare and benefits for lunch, sports, recreation, massage, and commuting.
- Opportunities for professional growth and career development as the company grows.
